Immortal Sÿnn signs with UK Label, Heavy Metal Records

DENVER, Colorado - Denver heavy metal band, Immortal Sÿnn, has inked a distribution deal with UK-based record label, Heavy Metal Records.

“We’re excited to finally be getting some recognition and progressing forward after years of paying our dues as an independent artist,” said guitarist and band founder Tony Z. “I’ve been doing this since 2004, and am excited to finally have a label behind us that has worked with some really hard-hitting bands in the past!”

Dan Morris, a representative of the label says of the company, “Established in 1978, Heavy Metal Records is the original heavy metal label. It was one of the leading contributors to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Having bands like Witchfinder General, Scorpions, Diamond Head, and Accept as alumni, they are a clear powerhouse of the metal world.”

The band had been in talks with the label since early August 2023, and signed a deal in December to have the label distribute their long-awaited EP, Hellspawn, a follow-up to their 2021 full-length album, Force of Habit.

“This is a big turning point for us!” exclaimed guitarist, Brad Wagner. “I’m excited to see where we go from here, and what the future may hold.”

The label plans to release four of the five songs from the EP as singles every six weeks beginning with “The Truth” on March 8th. The full EP is slated for release on August 23rd.

Since Tony Z revived Immortal Sÿnn in 2012 following a six-year hiatus, the Denver-based heavy metal band has steadily been making a name for themselves both locally and abroad. They have independently released 14 singles, 2 EPs, 2 full-length albums, and 3 compilation albums. Their latest release is Live Cuts and Rarities: Vol. 2, a collection of previously-unreleased tracks, alternate mixes, and live cuts.

The band has completed four US tours, and has opened for a variety of well-known acts including Hammerfall, Tommy Vext, Flotsam & Jetsam, Loudness, Winger, Ratt, and more. The group is in the midst of planning their 2024 summer tour which will take them through the southern United States.

In August 2023, Immortal Sÿnn enlisted former Grim Reaper and Grip Inc. bassist, Chaz Grimaldi, as their newest member.

Immortal Sÿnn taps former Grim Reaper bassist, Chaz Grimaldi

Denver, CO heavy metal group, Immortal Sÿnn, has welcomed the former bass player of Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper, Chaz Grimaldi, as the newest addition to their line-up. This comes just four months after the departure of Sean Ryan from the group. With the addition of Chaz, the band has once again begun to book live shows in the Denver area, and are in the midst of planning a new United States tour for summer 2024.

Chaz Grimaldi is a pro bassist that originally hails from Silver Spring MD. He has had a long career with many bands; most notably, 80’s NWOBHM legends Grim Reaper of “See You In Hell” fame (2008-2016 & 2019) and Dave Lombardo’s Grip Inc. (1993). “Having been fortunate to tour the world playing with some of the best musicians has been an incredible blessing in my life. The lifelong friendships of people I’ve met and the incredible places I’ve seen has been truly amazing.”

Most recently, Chaz was a member of Tampa, Florida band, Jezabelle, which garnered a sizable online following. Now, joining Denver, CO band, Immortal Synn, he looks forward to his contributions to the group. “I’m excited about the opportunity to play with Immortal Synn! The song catalog kicks ass and has all of the elements of METAL that I love to play. I look forward to being a part of this incredible band!”

Immortal Sÿnn released their latest single, “Lady Nocturna” on August 4th. The band is currently working again with engineer Nick Nodurft at Rusty Sun Audio in Parker, CO, recording a 5-song EP entitled, Hellspawn. The EP is slated to be released in mid-late September on all major streaming sites and digital stores, with physical CDs coming later.

New Music Coming in 2023!!

Hey all!

Sorry for the lack of updates. If you follow our social media, though, you’ve probably seen that we have definitely been keeping busy with shows, practice, and writing! I, Tony Z, have also been hard at work on my solo project, Li’l Hellraisers - another update about that specifically will be posted as the time for the first single release draws closer,

Speaking of singles, Immortal Sÿnn is headed back into the studio TODAY to record our first new song since “Will of the People” last year. This one is an original written by Axel - maybe y’all can guess what it is, but we’ll keep it a secret for now ;-p

In the coming weeks and months we plan to record up to 9 more songs - we’ll have at least two more singles after the one we are starting tomorrow, each being released 6 weeks apart. Then, we are going to have a new EP out for everyone in either late summer or early fall, so be on the lookout for that!

Our next show is March 18th at Trailside Saloon in Thornton, CO - we hope to see you all there!

P.S. - we are also in the planning stages of our annual summer tour, so there will be many updates to come!

New Album Arrives Friday, June 24th!

Hey all! Just a quick update that our newest album, 7 Sÿnns, will arrive to most major streaming platforms THIS FRIDAY! And don’t forget, if you live in Denver, we have a show to celebrate on June 25th at The Venue. We will be playing for Forbidden Temple’s EP release alongside Sound Awake and Metal Disorder. Tickets can be purchased by CLICKING HERE. To learn more about the album, check out the press release below!

7 Sÿnns is the upcoming compilation album by Immortal Sÿnn, comprised of new and previously-released material all recorded during the Force of Habit sessions. The record has a digital release date of June 24th on most major streaming platforms.

The first, and only previously-unreleased track on the album, “Aegri Somnia”, features friend of the band, Marisol Vasquez on flute once again. The track lends itself more to power metal and folk metal than other tracks in the band’s catalog. This song is a sequel to “Anamnesis”, and continues the storyline established therein.

“Let Them Eat Metal” was released as a bonus track on the vinyl edition of Force of Habit. It is a much faster and thrashier version of The Rods’ track.

“Eternal Night” was the first of two bonus tracks originally released on the CD version of Force of Habit. This song has power metal elements as well as some more modern ones, but still retains the band’s old school feel.

“The Night is Young” was previously released as an Apple Music exclusive when Force of Habit was first released. It features lead singer, Duel Shape, and bass player, Frantz Pierre, sharing vocal duties. Allen Maddox of Heartsick Heroine plays a guest solo on this track.

“State Oppression” is the first of two bonus tracks previously released on the cassette tape version of Force of Habit. It is a thrash metal song with a political theme, for which the band is known. Allen Maddox of Heartsick Heroine plays a guest solo on this track.

“Tired and Red” is the second of two bonus tracks previously released on the cassette tape version of Force of Habit. It features guitarist and founding member, Tony Z, on lead vocals as well as lead and rhythm guitar. This is a straightforward cover of Sodom’s track from their 1989 album, Agent Orange.

“La Balada” is the second of two bonus tracks previously released on the CD version of Force of Habit. This is the first song in the band’s catalog to be sung entirely by drummer Axel Berrios, as well as the first song to be sung entirely in Spanish. Sharone Borik (Sharone) and Mia Paris provide backing vocals for this song. It is a cover of the Mexican band, Cuca, with many layers and parts added to Immortal Sÿnn’s version to give it a much grander sound and feel.

All songs were recorded during the sessions for Force of Habit in 2020 and 2021. Due to the firing of the band’s previous lead guitarist and bass player after their 2019 summer tour, almost all of the instrumentation on the record was handled by drummer Axel Berrios and guitarist/founder, Tony Z. Duel Shape joined the band shortly after recording sessions began in March 2020, but lead guitarist brad Wagner and bassist, Frantz Pierre, did not join the band until close to the record’s completion.

While Brad was able to contribute lead guitar parts to three of the tracks on 7 Sÿnns, Frantz only recorded backing vocals and one lead vocal to share with duel on “The Night is Young”, as all of the bass parts had been recorded by Tony or Axel by the time he joined.

The band was happy to once again utilize its female friends to contribute to the record. Marisol Vasquez once again contributed her flute skills to 7 Sÿnns. She could be heard first on “Whiskey II: The Wrath of Corn” from Force of Habit. Sharone Borik of Sharone sang on an Immortal Sÿnn record for the first time and contributed her vocals to the track, “La Balada”. Mia Paris also contributed vocals to “La Balada”. Mia first sang backups for Immortal Sÿnn on the track, “Novus Ordo Seclorum” from the album, Machine Men, released in 2017.

All tracks on 7 Sÿnns were recorded at Rusty Sun Audio in Parker, CO. They were engineered and mixed by Nick Nodurft, and mastered by Jason Livermore (Rise Against, Descendants, As I Lay Dying) at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO.

All tracks, apart from “The Night is Young”, will be released digitally for the first time when 7 Sÿnns goes live on June 24th.

  • We will be releasing another new song for you very soon - a cover of Tim Pool’s “Will of the People”. It was due to arrive on January 7, but there was an issue with the distribution company that we are trying to resolve as quickly as possible. As soon as that is all figured out, we will post another update and send out emails to those on our mailing list.

  • We are happy to announce that we have joined the Ground Zero Promotions family! They represent a number of bands here in Colorado and out of state. They are a hard-working group, and always put the interests of their bands first. If you are in a band or own a venue and want to start working with some guys that will really push you and help you out, then look no further - drop them a message at the link above!

  • Finally, our most recent show was on NYE at The Venue in Adams County, CO with Pretty Boy Floyd and Hollywood Roses. It went very well, and we received a great response. If you missed it and would like to see us rock, you can check that out HERE. Unfortunately, due to the ‘rona, Brad was unable to play with us that night; however, he is feeling better and will be back up and rockin’ soon! This also was the last show for our bassist, Frantz. He scored a new job in Texas and will be moving out there in a few weeks. We had some damn good times and good tunes while he was a part of Immortal Sÿnn, and we wish him all the best as he moves forward to new adventures.
